2012 Sunset Whitney GC Junior Golf Overview
Summer Session
- Youngster Golf (Ages 4 – 6) Clinics are Mondays @ 3:30, every other week
- Ages 7 – 10, Clinics are Mondays @ 4:30
- Ages 11 – 14, Clinics are Mondays @ 5:30
- Saturday Junior Program, 10:15 am, ages 7 – 10
- Saturday Junior Program, 11:15 am, ages 11 - 14
In Conjunction with U.S. Kids Golf, The Ever-Incredible "Year Round" Junior Golf Program has 3 levels of instruction booklets that provide Junior Golfers with a road map for success in learning to play golf.
Every level includes instruction and check points in 5 areas, 1. Putting, 2. Scoring, 3. Around the Green, 4. Full Swing & 5. Knowledge. Juniors advance through the levels and achievement pins are earned each time a section of the booklet is completed.
The instructor dates & signs off on the progress. Only after all 5 sections are passed are the Juniors allowed to start the next level/booklet.
To provide players with incentives to advance through the levels, achievement pins are earned each time a section of the booklet is completed.
Parents with more than one child in a different age group may bring them on the same times if you so desire. (Exception: Youngster Golf)
The Saturday Morning Junior Golf Program at Sunset Whitney GC
Starts Saturday May 5th and runs through June 30th, 2012
Program runs 8 weeks
- 7 – 9 year olds at 10:15 am
- 10 & older start at 11:15 am
- All classes are 50 minutes.
- Hats, bag tags, work books and fun will be provided to all Junior Golfers.
- Cost: $140 per Junior, family discounts to 3 or more. $125.00 is Jrs already have hats, bag tags & workbooks
- May 5th, 12th, 19th, no class on May 26th, June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th.
No class Memorial Day Weekend. (Rain days will be made up at the end)
Year Round Program, (Summer) Session II, Starts Monday April 30th, 2012
Juniors are welcome to join the program at any time.
“Every other week” there will be a schedule of a main “Focus Skill” the class will be working/focusing on so Parents can plan ahead & know what the Juniors will be doing on those particular days, i.e.: Bunker Play, Pitch Shots, Video Analysis of the golf swing etc.
The main focus skill will not be the only thing we do that day.
On the weeks that a Focus Skill is not scheduled, Class will focus on the needs of the Junior Golfers that come to class on that day, whether it is Chipping, Full Swing or going out to play a few holes on the Golf Course. The Instructor will see who is in attendance and decide what is best to work on.
- Cost for any 6 weeks, $125 (or $115 without Hat, Bag Tag & Workbook)
- Cost for all 11 weeks, (or 7 weeks or more), $165. (or $150 without Hat, Bag Tag & Workbook)

- Open Day means Jrs & Instructor(s) can focus on the needs of the Jrs in attendance.
- All classes will begin with a Full Swing warm-up session on the driving range.
- All classes are 50 minutes.
- If it is raining we will still have class & the Focus Skill will be Rules & Etiquette.
- PGA Director of Instruction, Mike Huetter will teach all clinics and monitor all skills testing

- July 9th – 12th, Summer Junior Golf Camp Session II, 8:00 – 10:30, Cost $145
- August 6th – 9th, Summer Junior Golf Camp Session III, 12:30 – 3:00, Cost $145
- Thanksgiving Week 3-Day Camp (Mon – Wed) 10:00 – 12:30, Cost: $115.
- 2- day Junior Clinics to be added during the Summer months Cost: TBD
